Spearmint essential oil is reputed to have many therapeutic properties and is well known for its abundant uses in many forms for oils, gels, lotions, soaps, shampoos, sprays, and candle making. Amongst it many benefits some include:

Properties: Anti-bacterial, anti-catarrhal, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic, hormone-like insecticidal and stimulant

Body Systems Affected: Digestive system, emotional balance

Aromatic Influence: Spearmint essential oil's hormone-like activity may help open and release emotional blocks to bring about a feeling of balance. It acts as an antidepressant by relieving mental strain and fatigue, and by lifting one's spirits

Other Possible Uses: This oil may balance and increase metabolism, which may help burn up fats and toxins in the body. It may aid the glandular, nervous and respiratory systems. Historical Uses: Spearmint has been used to relieve hiccough, colic, nausea, indigestion, flatulence, headaches, sores, and scabs

Directions for Use: Generally regarded as safe (GRAS) for internal consumption fy the FDA (21CFR182.20)*

  • Dilute 1 drop of oil in 1 teaspoon of honey or 4 oz of beverage (i.e. soy/rice milk)
  • Use 6-8 drops in a diffuser of your choice
  • Apply diluted to flex points and/or directly on area of concern.
  • Dilute with a base and massage over stomach, solar plexus and thighs.
  • Add to bath for relief of symptoms or as a warm compress

  • Not for children under 6 years old; use with caution and in greater dilution for children 6 to 14 years
  • Do not apply to eyes, sensitive areas or mucous membranes
