Cedarwood essential oil is known for its grounding and calming properties, making it effective for times of stress and helping to combat negativity. It is an excellent oil to reach for when faced with chaos or conflict and for meditation and reflection.
It has historically been used to treat respiratory complaints such as excess phlegm and spasmodic coughing due to asthma and colds. In skincare, it has been known to assist in controlling acne and eczema and reduce skin irritation; in hair care it can reduce symptoms of dandruff while promoting healthy hair growth.

Properties: Anti-fungal, anti-infectious, antiseptic, (urinary & pulmonary), astringent, diuretic, insect repellent, and sedative

Other Possible Uses: This oil is recognized for its purifying properties. It may also help acne, anxiety, arthritis, congestion, coughs, cystitis, dandruff, psoriasis, purification, sinusitis, skin diseases, and water retention. It may help open the pineal gland and help reduce oily secretions
Historical Uses: Cedarwood was used traditionally by the North American Indians to enhance their spiritual communication. It creates the symbolic effect of the umbrella protecting the earth and bringing energy in from the universe. At night the animals in the wild lie down under the tree for the protection, recharging, and rejuvenation that the trees bring them
Folklore: Cedrus atlantica is supposed to be the species most closely related to the biblical Cedars of Lebanon
French Medicinal Uses: Anger (calming effect), arteriosclerosis, bronchitis, calming, cellulite, diuretic, hair loss, nervous tension, tuberculosis, urinary infections
Blends With: Bergamot, clary sage, cypress, eucalyptus, floral oils, juniper, resinous oils, and rosemary
Directions for Use
- Use 8-10 drops in a diffuser of your choice
- Dilute 1% to 3% in a carrier oil for topical use
- Apply diluted to flex points and/or directly to area of concern
