Ingredients
Organic berbere spice blend (chili peppers, coriander, fenugreek, ginger, cardamom, black pepper, allspice, cloves, cinnamon).
Suggested Use
Use in Ethiopian stews (wats), lentil dishes, roasted meats, and vegetables. Mix with butter or oil to make a spiced niter kibbeh. Use 1–2 teaspoons per dish.
Recipe
Ethiopian Berbere Lentil Stew
Ingredients:
1 cup red lentils
1 onion diced
1 tsp berbere spice
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp coriander
4 cups vegetable broth
1 cup diced tomatoes
Instructions:
1. Sauté onion in oil.
2. Add spices and toast lightly.
3. Add lentils, tomatoes, and broth.
4. Simmer 25 minutes.
Care Instructions
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep lid tightly sealed between uses.
