Moringa Leaf Tincture
Moringa is regarded by some as a ‘miracle plant’ as its leaves, pods, seeds, flowers, and roots are all edible, with each bearing different nutritional and medicinal values. Although every part of the Moringa tree can be used for nutritional and/or medicinal purposes, our tincture of Moringa is made from Moringa leaves, which are rich in protein, vitamins A, B and C, iron, calcium and other minerals, and essential amino acids.
Due to these exceptional nutritional qualities, traditional Asian and African medicine has utilized Moringa leaves to counteract poor nutrition (including among highly vulnerable people affected by starvation) and boost immune function. More specifically, Moringa leaves have been used to help stabilize blood pressure, treat stress and anxiety, and to support a balanced blood sugar level. Moringa leaf has also been employed in the treatment of arthritis and inflammation, as well as fevers, bronchitis, eye and ear infections, scurvy, and catarrh (inflammation of the mucous membranes), and as a remedy for diarrhea, dysentery and inflammation of the colon.
Moringa leaf has also been used as a diuretic (i.e. to increase the flow of urine) and to increase the flow and quality of breast milk, and to treat anemia, in mothers. As a treatment versus insomnia, Moringa leaf has been shown to relax the muscles, decrease body temperature and increase sleep duration. Some traditional medicine systems also assert that Moringa arrests ageing and improves memory. Moringa leaf has antioxidant properties and has been used as a general tonic for children.
