Handmade in small batches with coconut oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, sweet almond oil vitamin E oil, non-nano zinc oxide, and pure undiluted sandalwood essential oil.
Breaking down Non-Nano Zinc Oxide:
A non-nano particle is larger than 100 nanometers where One nanometre is one-billionth of a meter, meaning a nanoparticle is a particle smaller than 100 nanometers. In other words: a nanoparticle is super small. Non-nano refers to particles that aren’t so tiny. And, it turns out, non-nano is what you want when it comes to mineral sunscreen. The concern with these super-small nanoparticles is that they can find their way into your body by penetrating your skin and getting into your bloodstream. And while a nanoparticle will enter your bloodstream, a non-nano particle won’t. For that reason, non-nano is considered safer. Plus, nano-sized particles are so small that they can be ingested by coral reefs, and we don’t want that either.
Zinc oxide is a mineral, and the main active ingredients in the Mockingbird Sunscreen that actually does the work of protecting your skin from the sun’s damaging rays. Zinc oxide sits on top of your skin (rather than soaking in, like chemical sunscreens do) and protects you by scattering, absorbing, and reflecting the sun’s rays. It can stand alone as a sunblock because it is truly effective against UVA, UVB, and even UVC rays — this is called a “broad-spectrum blocker.”
Safe to use for all ages from babies to seniors.
